The Yamazaki Distiller's Reserve is a no-age-statement single malt from Suntory, Japan's oldest malt distillery. It blends whiskies matured in American, Spanish and Japanese Mizunara oak, giving soft red fruit, vanilla and a gentle spice on the finish. Easy enough to sip neat with a drop of water and clean enough to make a very good highball. Comes in the printed gift carton shown, so it travels well as a present.
