A 12 year old single barrel rye from WhistlePig in Shoreham, Vermont, finished in a maple creme brulee cask. At 86 proof it stays soft and round, with the long rye age giving it spice and the finish cask adding sweet vanilla and caramelized sugar. Pour it neat in a heavy glass after dinner, or let it carry an old fashioned. A good bottle to keep on the shelf when you want something a little dressier than your usual rye.
